Planning Commission Meeting dates, 2011: June 8, June 27 (annual), July 13, August 3, September 7, October 5, November 9, December 7.

The Casco Township Zoning Board of Appeals meets to consider requests for variances to the Casco Township Zoning Ordinance.  Questions about zoning can be directed to Alfred Ellingsen, Zoning Administrator, by email or phone (269-637-4441, Tuesday & Wed. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 269-236-5788 on weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.).

The ZBA is scheduled to meet a few times a year on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  Notices of the meetings are published in the South Haven Tribune and posted in the foyer of the Casco Township Hall.

The Casco Township Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee has been planning the development and operation of Casco Township's parks.  The first park, the Casco Township Nature Preserve, will be operational in 2011 (hopefully), when amenities like parking and restrooms are constructed.The current draft of the Nature Preserve site plan is viewable here.  The Parks Ordinance, put into effect in early 2011, is available here.   The ordinance sets hours of operation for the Casco Township Nature Preserve as well as the First Street Beach Access.

The Parks & Recreation committee also created the Township Park & Recreation Plan, and will be updating it in the next year or so.

Parks & Recreation in Casco Township is funded through a .25 mill which raises approximately $44,000 annually.
